This is my first “take” on a form of Korean patchwork called Bojagi. It’s also one of my first breakaway pieces from painting. I think the joy in the making is palpable. I made it to specs for a group exhibit organized by the Textile Study Group of New York. However, I was compelled to mount it on stretchers and to then wrap the stretchers in yarn. This made the piece too large to submit. I had to quickly come up with a Red Bandito #2 to the correct specs.
